I remember it well... it was the day I shot the "Oldsmobile Jack" featurette. I had expected my son to want to go to the shoot with me, but strangely enough, my daughter wanted to go as well, despite how many times I told her that she would just be bored to death. My wife, determined not to let me leave the house without assigning an errand or two had burdened me with a list for Wal-Mart. Anyway, we were on our way back from Wal-Mart when Isaac began pointing excitedly at Franklin Motors, the local Pontiac/GMC dealer. "They've got GTOs!" he said. "A bunch of 'em!" I promptly whipped into their parking lot, ignoring Virginia's numerous complaints. I still had a lot of room left on the camera's memory card, and I smelled a photo opp here. "I don't wanna sit here in the car!" Virginia protested. I told her she didn't have to and she said something about not wanting to see any more cars, that cars sucked. Her complaints were not new to me as she made them all through the Oldsmobile Jack shoot: That car is SO ugly. It's hot. I'm bored. This is stupid. Haven't you taken enough pictures yet? My God, do you have to lay on the ground to take pictures? I hope none of my friends drive by and see you lying on the ground in front of that ugly car. Can we go now? She started in again, but I cut her off by closing the door. Me an Isaac went over to have a look and this is what we saw: |
