1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z28  454/4 speed

  Every Boy's Dream...

... or at least it was for me.  I was always a bigger fan of the '74 Z28, but when I was a teenager, these late 3rd gen Camaros were more readily available than the '74s, so I decided I could settle for one like this.  But-- since my chances of getting any Camaro as a teen were very slim, all I could do was dream about the perfect Camaro.  It was ALWAYS black, sleek and aggressive looking, with the biggest possible engine under the hood and an exhaust note capable of sterilizing small animals.  Now more than 20 years later, my teenage dream car shows up in my inbox one day, courtesy of a guy named Joe from Montreal.  Check out the specs on this bad boy:  Roller 454 cu in, 4 speed, posi rear with 3.73 gears, and a functional cowl hood.  This is the longest My Garage feature we have ever put up with 13 pictures, but they are well worth it because not only is the first 2nd gen Z28 we've ever put up, it's one of the best-looking 2nd gens we've ever seen.--Steve Wingate
