Before buying this car, I had been looking for a triple black Camaro SS convertible for months with no success. I had all but given up on finding the Camaro and started thinking about the Bullitt Mustang I had seen at the Auto Show in January.

As I was driving through a small town with a population of 1800, I spotted a DHG Bullitt on the lot of a Ford dealership that still pumps gas!  Once I sat in the Bullitt and fired it up I no longer cared about the convertible.  I looked at my wife and said "I gotta have this car". Without a test drive I went into the office and made the deal and had Bullitt #1521 the following day.

Initially, I was planning on keeping the car stock forever, as it is a "collector car" according to Ford dealers. But anyone who knows me, especially my wife, knows I have trouble doing that in spite of what I say when I buy the car. The mod bug hit me slow at first and then fast and hard. I started by just replacing the crappy shifter, then the H-pipe, then I experimented with bolt ons and finally all bets were off and along came the 42# injectors, power pipe, blower, aftercooler, 90MM MAF, Centerforce clutch, aluminum driveshaft, 31 spline axles, locker rear end, Lower control arms, FRPP headers, Mac H-pipe and cat back, 3.73 gears, and Nitto tires. Appearance-wise the car has not been touched and looks just like the 275 hp car it was when it came from the dealership. I have more fun with it this way.

The car has run a 12.42  @ 119.75mph in full street trim. I've since bumped up the power to upwards of 450 RWHP but have not run it on slicks yet, that will happen in April.
