Bud and Anne Schroeder of Northern California went the non traditional route when we purchased my black Bullitt GT Mustang. I was actually looking for a NEW convertible Cobra. Hansel Ford of Santa Rosa, California had 2 Bullitts on the lot the day my family & I stopped by to see if they had any Cobras in stock. No Cobras, but I did eye the DHG Bullitt and the Black Bullitt. The salesman grabbed the keys and fired it up. I loved that low end rumble and those sleek clean black lines on the car. But I had seen the movie Bullitt staring Steve McQueen and that awesome 68 Mustang. It would be cool to have a DHG. But I also have a black 68 Mustang coupe at home in Windsor, CA. so I was really drawn to those black lines of that car. The top of that the DHG Bullitt had some dents in it and I did not want any paint work done on my soon to be new baby. As luck would have it, I found some dents and scratches in the car the very next day. The car ended up spending a total of 4 months in two different body shops. But the good news is that when I took Black Bullitt 227 to Prism Autobody the paint work, Harry Strouse gave me an excellent deal on blue and purple pearl ghost flames. Today my Bullitt has a black base with blue and purple pearl ghost flames that run back through the doors. The car looks GREAT!
I have not touched the motor yet, and want to wait for my extended warranty to be over first. Then I want to look into a super charger and lower gears for the rear end. But I have some other mods on the car and some future mods I want to do.
I also enjoys driving 227 to work in San Rafael, California to Autodesk where I work on AutoCAD. 227 is a daily driver. I also enjoys hanging out on www.IMBOC.com where I met Greg aka Rikki Racer!
Greg's comments: Bud is one of the first friends I made on IMBOC. He's a one in a million guy and I'm very proud to know him!! Oh yeah, in my humble opinion he's got the hottest Bullitt on the site!!
