2001 Chevrolet Camaro Z28
submitted by JN
Well were do I start? I'm not new to the world of muscle cars. My bio includes the 78 6.6 Trans Am and the 72 SS 402 Chevelle, but I must confess I wasn't a big fan of all these modern sports cars until I bought this one.. It started when I decided I wanted to buy a heavier duty truck-- a diesel perhaps. I called a local dealer and told him what I wanted. a 2001 or newer diesel pick up and he told me that he didn't have what I wanted on the lot but to give him a couple of days and he would find one for me. However-- knowing me personally and knowing my love for muscle cars, the sales manager proceeded to tell me he had a 2001 Z28 Camaro with only 19,000 miles on her and he'd make me a good deal on her. NO -- absolutely not I told him. I need a bigger truck. So the conversation ended at that. I would be lying if I told you it didn't spark something in me, so I started researching them on the internet. It only took about 2 hrs and a few pics to convince me to buy the car. The car exceeded my expectations --it literally gave me chills when I test drove it. I can't wait to start bolting on aftermarket parts, and I really need to be a part of some kind of association with a good idea of how to hot rod these new and complex sports cars. I look under the hood and wish I would have spent a little more time at UTI.
